CONC Hikers Trek Part Way Up South Sister

Five hikers got out of the smoke and heat to enjoy a great day on South Sister on Sunday, Aug. 6.

“This was a very good place to be today!” says group leader Hilloah Rohr. “We climbed up to around 7,700 feet, gaining around 2,000 feet, then took the old trail down to Moraine Lake, where we soaked our feet and made friends with a local bird who I thought was going to follow us home!

“We’re so lucky to have such a great backyard,” Hilloah adds.
