Sunday Hike: Metolius River (30 Aug 2026)

This is a nice ramble along a peaceful section of the beautiful Metolius River. We will start at the Fish Hatchery then hike downstream to Bridge 99 where we'll cross over to the other side of the river and complete our loop back to the hatchery.

Distance: 6 miles. This trip will take approximately 5-6 hours including drive time.

Elevation gain/loss: 200 feet of gain.

What to bring: Ten essentials, water, snack/lunch, and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals). NW Forest parking permit pass required. Dogs are not allowed on this hike.

Difficulty level: Easy.

Number of hikers: 8 participants including hike leader

Carpooling: Carpooling can be arranged at the meeting place. If you ride with someone, please donate to their gas fund. Be generous for obvious reasons.

Meeting place: The Grove in NW Crossing: 921 NW Mount Washington Drive, Bend. We'll grab a table in the general seating area, near Thump. Come early to grab a coffee and chat with others before we arrange carpools. Be prepared to leave by 8:00 am sharp! Hikers from Redmond or Sisters can meet us at 8:30 am at the Village Green Park in Sisters by the bathrooms.

Does it still feel like the middle of summer? Or are you already looking forward to the snow flying? Both are possible, even at the same time! Join the debate at our next club social.

Join us Thursday, September 10 from 5-7pm at Goodlife Brewery (70 SW Century Drive, Ste 100-464, Bend) for the September social event. We'll be in the Biergarten out back, where there are food trucks and a bar.

It can be a little tricky to find Goodlife, as they are tucked away a bit. As per their advice, "Turn at Dutch Bros and US BANK of Century Drive. Park in the large parking lot and look for the White Grain Silo."

This gathering is open to members, family and friends or anyone else that is interested in learning more about the Club.

While registration is not required, RSVPs are helpful so we know how many to expect.
