Ten CONC members set out to climb Coffin Man. Beargrass wasn’t out yet, but many other wildflowers made quite a show: Larkspur, Paintbrush, Service Berry, Queen’s Cup, Wallflower, Cat’s Ear, Columbine. Having summited Coffin Man., the group decided to also climb nearby Batchelor Man. The summits of both mountains offered great views of the west face of Mt. Jefferson as well as the Cascade peaks from Diamond Peak in the south to Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens in the north. (story and photos by Don Schwendiman) Click on photos for larger image.
