Cross Country Skiing the Dolomites, Jan. 29-Feb. 15, 2020
January 29 - February 15
The Dolomites in northern Italy are well known as a walking paradise in summer. Europeans also know it as a winter wonderland – a place of sparkling snow under the warm Italian sun, where you find hundreds of kilometers of ski tracks under towering rock walls, and where European cultural amenities and magnificent views make for an unforgettable experience.
Our adventure begins in a central location in Munich. From here we are transported by private coach to our first week’s destination in the interesting town of Castelrotto, above Bolzano and just below the Seiser Alm/l’Alpe di Suisi, in summer the largest alm grazing area in Europe. Our ski days are mostly spent on that high Alpe, although some ski trails are found leading off and above the Val Gardena. We will take advantage of hundreds of kilometers of tracks before we move on to our next week’s ski venue in the High Pustertal, the northernmost valley in Italy. Here we enjoy additional hundreds of kilometers of scenic and varied ski tracks, covering all the valleys that feed into the Val Pustaria. Both weeks are spent in family owned/operated 3-4* hotels with delicious food. After two weeks of skiing, we return to Munich for the night prior to our flight home.
Shari and Paul have been leading this trip for many years and they have spent over 2 years in this magnificent part of the world. Reservations are made, but price has not yet been set since Shari is now off enjoying a CONC adventure in Norway.
Interested parties should contact Shari ASAP by e-mail at email@example.com to be put on the trip list as there is only space for 12 skiers, plus the leaders, this trip. Shari will contact you relative to your position on the trip and prices by late June.
