Ski Trip to Inn at Mazama

January 31 - February 4

The Inn at Mazama 2022 – Arrive Monday, January 31- Leave Friday, Feburary 4, 2022.

ALL CONC PARTICIPANTS MUST BE VACCINATED FOR COVID-19 This is the same Inn CONC has stayed at in the past and is about an 8 hour drive from Bend. It is now under new management and has a new name: “The Inn at Mazama”. There are several changes: the rooms in the Lodge have all been remodeled and one has been renamed (the old Cedar is now the Fir and has a shower only as opposed to a tub/shower). The rooms out on the boardwalk have not been remodeled, but both have been renamed (the old Dogwood is now the Cedar, and the old Evergreen is now the Pine). Remodeled Aspen Remodeled Fir Using the room map from the old Country Inn, “A” is still Aspen, “B” is still Birch, “C” is now Fir, “D” is now Cedar, and “E” is now Pine. Price per room is based on # of beds and size of the rooms (Pine Plus are slightly larger than Pine). I have detailed each in the chart below, and given total cost for the 4 nights including tax and gratuity. Obviously, if two people share a room, then those two people can split the cost. This does not include meals or ski trail tickets.

Methow Valley has over 200km of groomed ski trails; most are groomed for both skate and classic. Ski trail passes for 3 days is $63 ($21 for an extra day). The Inn at Mazama is right next to the Mazama Trailhead (see the Upper Trails Map). You can actually ski from Mazama down to Winthrop, and even up to Sun Mountain which are considered the Lower trails (see the lower Trails Map). Typically however, we carpool to Sun Mountain and try to make time for a hot toddy or lunch at the Sun Mountain Lodge. For the adventurous, the difficult trails are in the Rendezvous area. Where we decide to ski is dependent on weather, sun, and luck!

Meals at the Inn have been arranged to accommodate our group; however we have to decide on a basic plan; either a 3-course dinner (appetizer, salad, entree. OR salad, entree, dessert) or a 4- course dinner for $10 more (appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert): we all need to have the same dinner plan. This will be decided after people have reserved their rooms. Breakfast and lunch are more flexible. Breakfast (family style cooked e.g. pancakes, eggs&bacon, baked frittata, chorizo scramble, etc OR self serve granola and juice) is $20, self serve soup at lunch for $8 or a box lunch (sandwich and side) for $17. These options will be determined by you at a later date. However, to give you an idea of the cost of meals for 4 days with tax and gratuity included, I’ve assumed the option of breakfast, box lunch, and 3 course dinner: If we as a group decide on a 4-course dinner, it will be $40 more for the week. If you as an individual decide on Breakfast+Soup and no Box Lunch, it will be $20 less. Also, since there is the very cool Mazama Store right next door, you may want to get lunch there and not order lunch through the Inn, so the food bill will be even less. But as I said earlier, we will finalize the food particulars at a later date.

What I need from participants is a check to pay for full cost of the room and a signed CONC overnight trip waiver. If you are sharing a room, then I need a check for 1/2 the cost of the room and the name of who you will be sharing the room with. Please fill out the table below with the required information, and return it and the signed trip waiver (enclosed) with your check. Please email me before sending, so I can verify that your room requested is still available! I’m looking forward to a great snow year and a lot of fun on this trip! Thank you, Eric Ness
