A group of skiers weren’t quite sure what they would encounter at Swampy SnoPark on Sunday, February 23; it was really windy on the drive up, and when they turned into the parking lot it was obvious that the promised overnight snow didn’t happen at the Swampy elevation. But it had not frozen overnight, so Susan decided to think outside the blue diamonds and led a 5-mile ski in perfect crust-cruising conditions.
Susan kept mostly west of the Swampy Loop and eventually came out on Flagline, and then down across the Swampy Lakes to the shelter for lunch. They continued off trail back to the parking lot just as the snow started to really come down. It was a really fun ski that got very positive comments from a couple of participants.
