CONC Crater Lake Ski/Snowshoe Trip 2024
The annual ski trip to Crater Lake will take place this year on Friday thru Sunday, March 8-10. Lodging will be at Prospect Historic Hotel Bed and Breakfast Inn, Motel and Dinner House ; the same as in the past, hosted by Fred Wickman.
All costs listed have been updated for 2024 prices.
The cost per individual based on double occupancy for two nights’ lodging, all meals (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners), and gratuities will be $273 for a bed in the Motel wing, and $313 for a bed in the historic hotel. There is an additional 25% charge for single supplements (Motel single = $338, and Hotel single = $388). We have added $13 per person to the cost for the housekeeping gratuity. Transportation to and from both Crater Lake and the Prospect Hotel will be on your own. Family rooms are available in the motel and are billed at the double occupancy rate.

The current plan is to meet near the north entrance of Crater Lake on Friday (access in the park in the winter is only by the south or west entrance on highway 62), ski a half day, then drive to the hotel (about 1 hour from Crater Lake). A dinner of spaghetti (vegetarian or meat) is served Friday evening, with Southern Oregon wine, beer and cocktails available at an extra charge. Saturday morning, after a buffet breakfast, everyone heads back to Crater Lake to ski or snowshoe. We will also try to set up a guided snowshoe with a park ranger which has been very popular in the past. Brown-bag lunches will be provided. Saturday evening’s dinner will be your choice of prime rib, dill roasted salmon or vegetarian lasagna. On Sunday morning a second buffet breakfast is served, and everyone departs for more skiing, exploring or a direct return to Bend, Since the weather is unknown at this time, it is advised to also bring hiking boots. There are trails near the hotel, including 3 waterfalls within a 12 minute walk from front door.
