Hike to lovely Pamelia lake then climb up to Grizzly Peak for stunning, close-up views of Mt Washington. This hike requires a Central Cascade Wilderness permit, so participation is capped at 8 participants and participants must sign up in advance.
Distance: 10 miles Roundtrip, 9-10 hours total time including drive to/from trailhead.
Elevation gain/loss: 2700 feet of gain.
What to bring: Ten essentials, water, snack/lunch, and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals). NW Forest parking permit pass required. Dogs are not allowed on this hike.
Difficulty level: Difficult.
Number of hikers: Eight participants total, registration is required.
Carpooling: Carpooling can be arranged at the meeting place. If you ride with someone, please donate to their gas fund. Be generous for obvious reasons.
Meeting place: The Grove in NW Crossing: 921 NW Mount Washington Drive, Bend. We'll grab a table in the general seating area, near Thump. Come early to grab a coffee and chat with others before we arrange carpools. Be prepared to leave by 7:00 am sharp!
