Distance: Approximately 5 miles. Plan on spending 5-6 hours including drive time to/from the trailhead. We will hike out of Swampy Sno Park, up West Swampy Loop to Ridge Loop. We'll then take the new Crosscut trail over to Flagline, then to Swampy Shelter, and then back to the Sno Park.
Elevation gain/loss: Approximately 200 feet of gain
What to bring: Ten essentials, water, snack/lunch, and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals). Forest Service pass required at trailhead. Dogs are not allowed on this hike.
Difficulty level: Moderate. This hike is on winter ski trails and is not maintained to summer standards so there may be lots of step-over logs. Hiking poles would be helpful.
Number of hikers: Sign up is not required for this hike.
Carpooling: Carpooling can be arranged at the meeting place. If you ride with someone, please donate to their gas fund. Be generous for obvious reasons.
