Meeting place/time: Meet at Edison SnoPark near the trailhead kiosk at 9:00am (NO pre-meeting).
Distance/hours: Ski 4-6 hours, depending on snow conditions and how much trail breaking will be required.
Brief Trail Description: Ski up DC to AC/DC shelter and stop for lunch. Return via AC, Supercharger, upper High Voltage, and some off-trail parallel to DC. Half of this route is rarely skied by anybody, which makes it a pleasant adventure.
This is about a 9 mile loop, hence the advanced intermediate rating. The first 3 miles are mostly uphill, climbing 600' to the shelter.
What to bring:
Ten Essentials.
Water, lunch.
Kicker skins (optional).
Ski Equipment: Skis should be designed for backcountry use, and over 65mm wide. Sturdy boots with BC or 3-pin bindings.
Forecast calls for 3-5 inches of snow Sunday night, 4-8 inches Monday, and 1-3 inches Monday night; perfect for this route, but means we will be breaking trail. High near 30 degrees on Tuesday, so the snow should stay light and fluffy.
Number of skiers: 8
