Beginner Ski Tour
Date: Thursday March 7, 2024
Destination: Meissner Sno-Park
Skill Level: Beginner
Category: Classic, Groomed Trails
Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours on the trail, approximately 30 min drive time each way to destination from Bend.
Route: An easy 3.5-4.0miles on groomed trails; Currant Way to Tangent to Pine Drops. Mistletoe to Meissner Shelter. We’ll check to see if the dragon is still there. Then ski back via Manzanita and Tangent. Total time on trail will be about 2-2.5hours with a total elevation change of about 300feet or so. Route subject to changed due to snow conditions and weather. Note: A few downhill sections require a snowplow for speed control.
What to Bring:
Ski Equipment:
Appropriate classic ski equipment for groomed tracks: 70 mm width skis or less to fit in the tracks. Wider skis are OK, but they will not fit in the tracks so you will be skiing in the skating lane.‘
Gear:
- Clothing to match the forecasted conditions; Proper winter clothing (no cotton)!
- Water, snack.
- A smile

9:00 AM - Meet at the Grove in Bend (NW Crossing) for a bit of socializing & coffee drinking, arrange carpooling, sign waivers
9:30 AM - Leave promptly for destination
10:00 AM – Anticipated arrival at Meissner Sno-Park
