Snowshoe Trail Maintenance

The weather looks great to head to Vista Butte this coming Tuesday, April 2nd, to detail flag the planned snowshoe trail from the sno-park to the crest of Vista Butte. The approved route is shown on the following map. We will be re-establishing the previously flagged route so we can easily follow it this summer when we begin clearing and hanging markers. Distance from the sno-park to the crest is about 1 mile with 700' of elevation gain. 

 Plans                  

  • Tuesday April 2nd (NOAA Forecast)
    • Sunny, with a high near 60.

  • Meet at Bend Parks and Recreation 799 Sw Columbia (by the kayak round-a-bout) at 8:30 AM 
    • Group up and drive to Vista Butte sno-park.
    • Snowshoes are a must.. You might want gaiters as there will be fresh snow  and we might be breaking trail
    • Expect to return to town around 1PM
