This week we are planning to work on a stretch of the Ridge trail near the Swampy Loop to do some limbing and brushing. This stretch west of Junction 53 is prone to tree wells, so by clearing some brush we hope to make it safer for downhill traffic. There are also some short stumps left from winter clearing that need to be cut back to the ground. This is not a huge project so we expect to be done by early afternoon.
Weather is expected to be sunny with a high in the low 70s.
What to bring: gloves, long sleeved shirt, water, snack/lunch and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals). Hard hats are required and can be provided if you don’t have one. Bring a hand saw if you have one.
Carpooling: We’ll meet at the Cascade Lakes Welcome Center for carpooling to Swampy Lakes Sno-Park.
