Snowshoe Trail Maintenance
Tuesday October 15th
8:00 to 3:00

Lets try this again and hope for better air quality.  Two alternatives for Tuesday, October 15th. First would be to continue pre-season survey and clearing of the snowshoe trails. We will head to Swampy Sno-park and hike the Porcupine snowshoe trail in a counter-clockwise direction. We will head up Telemark Butte and along the Summit Bypass. There we will see how we can improve the one section identified last year as being narrow. Depending on our time and resources, we will continue on the loop and either take the first tie or Swampy Shelter tie and return to the sno-park. Distance will be about 4 miles. Please remember that hiking on the snowshoe trails is more difficult since they are not cleared to ground.

The alternative plan would be to head to the Common Corridor at Dutchman and replace the missing markers on the east loop of the Todd Lake Snowshoe trail.

I don't have any scouting, thus not sure what we will encounter. We can clear light blowdown with a cross-cut and Katanaboy saws and trim with pole saws where necessary. If we encounter heavy blowdown, we will mark if for future work with chain saws. We will also note any signage issues that need to be addressed.
