The plan for Wednesday will be to brush and mark the East Loop trail at Skyliners Sno-Park. With the Edison trail system off limits for the time being, Skyliners is an alternative for people that are looking to get out in the snow with dogs.
This is a short loop, about 1 mile in length; there are no logs down, so the work involves just brushing and hanging assurance markers. There’s a fair amount of brushing needed, and a little bit of limbing. The markers are sparse or old, so this trail is overdue for some attention.
Weather is forecast to be sunny with a high near 40. There’s currently some sparse snow on the ground, and no significant accumulation is expected, so hiking boots are appropriate.
What to bring: gloves, long sleeved shirt, eye protection, water, snack/lunch and proper footwear. Hard hats are required and can be provided if you don’t have one. Bring a hand saw if you have one.
Carpooling: We’ll meet at the Grove, inside near Thump Coffee, for carpooling.
