Snowshoe Trail Maintenance
Edison Update

Stopped by Edison Sno-park Thursday afternoon. The entrance is blocked by barriers and what I've gathered, though haven't seen an official announcement,  is that Edison will be closed for the 2024-25 season. That is really going to leave dog owners, especially from Sunriver, with few trail options. Time for another push for Kapka West!!!!

Tuesday November 12th
8:30 to 3:00

The short snowshoe trail to Meissner Shelter was cleared on October 29th, thanks Dave & Gary. This week we will head to Meissner to clear the long snowshoe trail to the Meissner Shelter. Six logs were cut from the short trail, so I don't expect too much more on the long loop.  So, 1 3/4 miles of trail to clear out of the 3 mile loop.

There was about 6-8" of snow Thursday at Meissner with mixed precipitation forecast over the weekend. I would suggest being prepared with snowshoes and for hiking on packed snow. We will need to make a final call at the trailhead.  We can clear blowdown with a cross-cut and Katanaboy saws and trim with pole saws where necessary. The junction sign at Meissner Shelter was used for target practice, so we will be replacing it.
