Beginner XC Ski Tour on Groomed Trails

Destination:Meissner Sno-Park
Skill Level:Beginner

Duration:2 to 2.5 hours on the trail, approximately 30 min drive time each way to destination from Bend.
Route:We plan to start of skiing Currant Way, grooming conditions permitting, with additional mileage on Tangent. This will be a timed event with total time on trail will be about 2-2.5hours so we are back at the parking lot by 3:00 PM. Route subject to changed due to snow conditions and weather.
Meeting Place
When: We will meet at The Grove at 12:00 pm on Sunday 12/15/2024and leave promptly at 12:30 pm. Please arrive on time tosign waivers, organize carpools, and socialize.
Where: Meet near Thump Coffee inside The Grove at 921 NW Mt. Washington Dr., Bend.
Carpooling:
We encourage carpooling as Meissner sno-park is quite busy on Sundays.
What to bring:

Ten Essentials. Including tools & straps for ski/boot repairs.

Proper winter clothing for insulation and protection from wind and snow. Dress in layers. Bring a water resistant outer layer.

Water and/or hot drink, snack. Bring food that can be easily eaten if cold.

Dogs are not allowed.
Ski Equipment: Skis should be designed for groomed track skiing. Maximum width of the ski should be 68mm or less. Skis, boots and poles designed exclusively for skiing on machine groomed tracks are recommended.
