Description: Join leader John Stephenson for a full moon snowshoe with (hopefully) tremendous views of the Three Sisters and Mt Jefferson.

Please be aware that bad weather conditions can alter or even cancel trips. Also note that the difficulty of any trail can change based on current conditions such as recent snowfall and may necessitate changes to the route. Please be on the lookout for emails from the trip leader regarding the trip.

Distance/hours: Trip is 3.5-4 miles RT. Plan on spending 5 hours, including drive time to/from trailhead. If conditions are good, we may take an alternative route back from the Shelter, that would require breaking trail.

Elevation gain/loss: Approximately 600 ft elevation gain.

Difficulty Level: Moderate due to the elevation gain and potential for deep snow. All participants will take turns breaking trail, if needed.

What to bring: Winter 10 Essentials, water, snack/lunch. Dogs are not allowed on this trip.

Required Equipment: HEADLAMPS! Be sure to fully charge or replace with fresh batteries, depending on the type of headlamp. Spare batteries and a backup flashlight are highly recommended (which should be in your 10 Essentials). Snowshoes, over-the-ankle waterproof boots, gaiters, hiking poles with large baskets for stability especially if we need to break trail.

Number of participants: 9 participants including the trip leader. Sign up is required.

Meet Up Location Information: Village Green Park in Sisters. Meet up next to the toilets. Trip leader will be driving a brown Ford truck.

Carpooling: Carpooling can be arranged at the meeting place. If you ride with someone, please donate to their gas fund. Be generous for obvious reasons.

Leader: John Stephenson, 541-968-3091
