Walton Lake Ski
Trail Highlights: Walton Lake is in the Ochocos east of Prineville. There are several marked loops of ski trails above the lake and onto a plateau.
Level of Difficulty, Distance, and Time. This tour will be an intermediate to advanced ski. Several of the trails are fairly steep on the return to the lake. Part of the equation is the driving distance and time: 65 miles and 1 1/2 hours each way.
When: Tuesday, March 18
Meeting Place/Time: PetSmart south parking lot/Leave at 8:30.
What to Bring: Water, lunch, and 10 Essentials
Ski Equipment: Wide backcountry skis; expect to be breaking trail. Forecast is for snow on Monday and maybe Monday night. Partly sunny on Tuesday.
