The work this week will continue our efforts to improve marker visibility, this time on Pete’s Way in the Dutchman trail system.
We’ll start from the Nordic Center, and head fairly directly to Pete’s Way. Snow conditions will determine the return route. The total maintenance effort will be on a little over a mile of the trail. The round trip distance will be 4 to 5 miles.
We’ll bring a couple of pole saws, hand saws, markers, and a drill. Bring a pack that’s large enough to carry tools and supplies.
Temperatures are supposed to be in the 50s, with sunny weather. Might be time to break out the sun screen! Snow conditions could be getting mushy so hence the earlier start.
What to bring: Winter Ten essentials, Extra gloves (since they’re likely to get wet), water, snack/lunch. Hard hats are required for this work; let me know if you need one. Bring a hand saw if you have one.
Carpooling: We’ll meet in the parking lot at Bend Parks and Rec at 8:30 AM to sort out carpooling. Let me know if you plan to meet us at the Nordic Center instead.
