The water is gushing in the falls of Whychus Creek this time of year. We will go on the maintained trail to the lower falls, then we will hike the extra mile up the non-maintained trail to the middle and upper falls. Come prepared to climb over, under, and around blowdown on the trail.
Distance: 7.2 miles RT. Plan on spending 5-6 hours including drive time to/from the trailhead.
Elevation gain/loss: 800 feet of gain
What to bring: Ten essentials, water, snack/lunch, and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals). Hiking poles are recommended. Dogs are not allowed on this hike.
Difficulty level: moderately-difficult due to bushwacking required to get to upper falls.
Number of hikers: 9 maximum including the hike leader.
Carpooling: Carpooling can be arranged at the meeting place. If you ride with someone, please donate to their gas fund. Be generous for obvious reasons.
Meeting place: We will meet next to the bathrooms at Village Green Park in Sisters.. Be prepared to leave by 8:30 am sharp!
