We had a great session on last Sunday, completing lower HV, Short Circuit, and Supercharger from SC up through the burn. Unfortunately, we ran out of diamonds and could not put markers up on upper HV and HV Tie. So that is our objective for next Sunday.
We will be using sections of extension ladders to post plastic markers on burned trees. There is no shade and the ground is "dead-burned", so we will work only in the morning. However, temperatures are forecast to only reach the low 70s with only a slight chance of rain (same as last Sunday). It will be chilly at first and then comfortable around noon. We will stop as soon as we complete the task.
I am going to keep the group small (three volunteers) since it is not a lot of work. We’ll work in pairs, so will bring 2 ladders, 2 hammers, and lots of markers and nails. Bring a pack that’s large enough to carry some of these tools and supplies, and of course water and snacks.
What to bring: Extra gloves (since they’re likely to get black), rain jacket, water, snack/lunch. Hard hats and eye protection are required for this work; let me know if you need either. Bring a hand saw if you have one.
Meet at the Edison Sno-Park at 8:00 am. We will drive together to Junction 115 and beyond (to minimize our walk).
