We’ll return to Edison this week to continue trail prep. Once again, there are two possibilites for work on Edison trails. We have permanent signs to install near AC/DC shelter, and there’s brushing and markers needed on both Alternating Current and Direct Current. If this is our work plan, we will do a shuttle and hike into the AC/DC shelter site from the road, install the junction signs, and then work on brushing and updating markers on Alternating Current down to the Sno-Park. With all the wind that we have had the last couple of days there may be some downed trees; we will bring saws and deal with anything that isn’t too massive that has come down.

If there’s too much snow for this at the upper elevations of Edison, we may opt for a lower elevation work plan. We would install junction signs at three locations and update markers on lower Supercharger. It will be interesting to see if anything new has come down on these trails since the last winds.

I will be up there on Monday and assess snow conditions and figure out which work plan we will follow.

There will be a fair amount of equipment to haul, so bring a pack that’s large enough to carry tools and supplies.  We’ll be bringing the signs, a ladder, a pole saw, hand tools and markers.

As of this writing the weather is expected to be  clearing with a high temperature in the 50s.

What to bring:  Ten essentials, work gloves, eye protection, water, snack/lunch. Hard hats are required for this work; let me know if you need one.   Bring a hand saw if you have one.

Carpooling: Meet at the Cascade Lakes Welcome Station,at 8:30 AM to sort out carpooling. Contact me if you want to meet us at the Edison Sno-Park instead.
