Snowshoe Trail Maintenance

The weather and trail conditions continue to look good for work at Swampy on Tuesday. Five 12-15" blowdown on the western part of trail near the shelter tie were reported by Tom M.; thanks for the scouting! See the trail status report HERE.

Depending on the number of folks, we may split into 2 groups to get the identified blowdown and to check the Shelter Tie heading to the east towards junction "G"; the last non surveyed trail segment.

It should be a short day given what has been reported.

Trail conditions should be good with little, if any, snow. Walking distance will be about 3 miles.

Plans

Tuesday November 11th
(NOAA Forecast) . A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.
Meet at Bend Parks & Recreation District Office Lot at 799 SW Columbia St (where the kayaks are in the roundabout) at 8:00 AM
We will park in the the parking spots closest to the river

Group up. Drive to Swampy Sno-park.
Long-sleeve shirts, glasses, gloves and hard hats I will have a couple of extra hard hats
Boots - no snowshoes yet!
Katanaboy or silky hand saws if you have one. I will bring a couple of extra ones as well as a pole saw and x-cut. A second x-cut would be good so we can divide.
Expect to return to town by 1:30PM
