We finished the last of the Edison trail work last week - so our next project is the ungroomed Wednesdays trail at Meissner. This trail has not had significant maintenance in around eight years; a sawyer team cleared and brush the trail last week, and now it needs a lot of markers and some serious limbing. Also, given the winds we’ve had since they logged it out, it’s quite likely that there’s more stuff down, so we’ll bring a saw along just in case. There’s about two miles of trail to mark; we’ll try working from both ends of the trail to make the work go more quickly.
Bring a pack that’s large enough to carry tools and supplies, in addition to what you need for the day.
Since the predictions are for heavy rain through Wednesday we’re scheduling this work for Friday. As of this writing the weather on Friday is expected to be partly sunny, and a high temperature around 50.
What to bring: Ten essentials, work gloves, eye protection, water, snack/lunch. Hard hats are required for this work; let me know if you need one. Bring a hand saw if you have one.
Carpooling: NOTE: this work is on Friday! Meet at the Parks and Rec district office parking lot (near the kayak roundabout) at 8:45 AM to sort out carpooling. Contact me if you want to meet us at the Meissner Sno-Park instead.
