We’ve gotten most of the significant trail work accomplished, so this week we’ll pick up a relatively short job. The Nordeen Tie trail between Junctions 33 and 42 is in need of brushing. The markers were updated a couple of years ago, so we’ll just go in with loppers and a pole saw. The trail hasn’t been surveyed since the winds last week so there may be some logs to cut. The trail is short, only about 1/3 mile and the approach to it on Tangent is about 3/4 mile.
Note: This work is scheduled for Tuesday as that seems to be the day with the best weather.
As of this writing the weather on Tuesday is expected to be partly sunny and in the 40s, with a chance of mixed precipitation by mid-afternoon. There is a chance it will be windy; if the winds are signficant we’ll postpone the work.
What to bring: Ten essentials, work gloves, eye protection, water, snack/lunch. Bring a pack that’s large enough to carry tools and supplies, in addition to what you need for the day.Hard hats are required for this work; let me know if you need one. Bring a hand saw if you have one.
Carpooling: NOTE: this work is on Tuesday! Meet at the Parks and Rec district office parking lot (near the kayak roundabout) at 9:00 AM to sort out carpooling. Contact me if you want to meet us at the Meissner Sno-Park instead.
