The original plan for this week was to put out blue poles in the Dutchman area. It’s not certain that there’s enough snow to accomplish this, but I’d at least like to check the pole caches. So this will mostly be a ski trip with a bit of work possible. We’ll bring some tools just in case.
This will be an intermediate to advanced ski in difficulty, maybe 6 miles in total. We’ll go up to the Flagline Access/Flagline junction and check the pole cache, and put blue poles out if the snow is deep enough. The route of return will depend on snow conditions. We may be skiing off-trail at least part of the time, depending on conditions.
We’re back to our regular Wednesday work day. The weather on Wednesday is expected to be sunny and in the upper 40s.
What to bring: Ten essentials, work gloves, eye protection, water, snack/lunch. Bring a pack that’s large enough to carry tools and supplies, in addition to what you need for the day. Bring a hand saw if you have one.
Carpooling: Meet at the Parks and Rec district office parking lot (near the kayak roundabout) at 9:00 AM to sort out carpooling. Contact me if you want to meet us at the Nordic Center instead.
