Ray Benson Tour
Were you not able to get on the list for Eric's Ray Benson Tour on Sunday? Here's your chance to do it Monday. Based on Eric's trip report for Saturday's tour we'll tentatively follow his route (and tracks).
Trail Highlights: Forecast at Santiam Pass is for 1-2' Sunday night and additional 2-4" on Monday, so the potential for fresh snow. From the Ray Benson SnoPark, we will ski south on South Loop and maybe stop next to Big Lake. Then ski back north on the South Loop and transition to the North Loop to stop at the North Blowout Shelter for lunch. After lunch, we will continue on North Loop back to the SnoPark.
Level of Difficulty, Distance, and Time. This will be approximately 6 miles, making this tour an intermediate level. There are no "steeps", but if we go off trail you will need to be able to handle both downhills and up hills.
