Trail Highlights: This is an intermediate tour that does an out and back up Vista Butte from Swampy SnoPark. There may be some trail breaking depending on the amount of snow. If there is some snow up top, we may spend some time cycling some turns on the face before returning.
OPTION: depending on the group, some or all of the groups may decide to head down the face and rejoin the trail at the bottom. Experts only.
Level of Difficulty, Distance, and Time. Intermediate level tour, approximately 5 miles, with ab out 2000 ft of elevation gain. 2-4 hours.
Meeting Place/Time: Thursday March 5th. We will meet at Swampy SnoPark at the map at 10:00, sign waivers, and leave the TH by 10:15.
What to Bring: Ten essentials including tools and straps for ski/boot repairs.
- Proper winter clothing and protection from wind and rain. Glide Wax. Water, snack/lunch. There are no warming shelters on this route.
Ski Equipment: Wider skis (>68mm) with metal edges are best.
