We will hike the Ray Atkeson Trail at Sparks Lake. The trail loop is approximately 3 miles along the shoreline of Sparks Lake and through some narrow basalt ravines formed by relatively recent flows from the Mt Bachelor Chain. There are spectacular vistas of Broken Top and the Three Sisters. There is only 100 feet of elevation change - but quite a bit of up and down on a rocky trail. This will be an easy hike with occasional stops to discuss the geology of the area. We will meet at The Grove departing promptly at 9 AM.
