Well, we tried to do this work a couple of weeks ago and the weather didn’t cooperate… in fact it snowed! This Wednesday’s weather looks much more promising. We will be repainting and repairing the signboards at the trailheads.
The boards will be lowered so most of the work can be done from the ground, though ladders will be used for the top sections. The work involves scraping off peeling paint with wire brushes and scrapers, then applying new paint with brushes and rollers.
What to bring: Please ensure you have the following required PPE:
- Long pants and long-sleeved shirts - Boots - Work gloves - Hard hats (Please let me know if you need one provided for you) Since painting can be messy, we will provide rubber gloves, but please wear clothing that you do not mind getting splattered.
Carpooling: Meet at the Cascade Lakes Welcome Center at 8:00 AM to sort out carpooling.
