I usually do this hike in November, when the air is crisp and cool. However, Sunday's forecast is for a high of 60 degrees, which is cool! There is a slight chance of rain, so bring some rain gear just in case, but forecast says it will be mostly sunny. This is a loop starting across Cascade Lakes Hwy from Elk Lake, which we will do counterclockwise. Horse Lake has a nice rocky peninsula, which makes for a perfect lunch spot.
