Last week we completed marking and brushing the South Swede loop between the Swampy Loop and Junction 60. This week we’d like to complete the marking of the 3/4 mile section between Junction 60 and the Swede Shelter. Logging activity has heavily affected this stretch of the trail and a lot of markers are needed. There’s also a short but important section of the North Swede loop that needs to be brushed, and we’ll tackle that as well.
With six people and the ability to drive to the start of the work area, this should be a relatively short work day.
NOTE: the Forest Service has just lowered the fire restrictions, so it’s possible that logging work will resume in this area. If that’s the case, we may change plans and work on a section of the Swampy Loop.
I’ll be in contact with registrants on Tuesday to confirm plans.
